Bill Adams'
list: more I can't leave behind
Now, what surprised me about reducing my list?
First, I ended up choosing things that I have known since childhood, or
at least adolescence. Second, I chose to take many items that most
people do not even know exist. Third, as much as I love jazz, classical,
easy listening and old rock instrumentals, I picked nine vocal CD's.
Here are the 33 I left out, but I love them anyway:
1. Julie Andrews, "A Little Bit of
Broadway"
2. Gene Ammons/Sonny Stitt "We'll Be Together Again" (jazz sax)
3. Eddie Arnold "Cattle Call/Thereby Hangs a Tale" (trad. cowboy songs)
4. John Coltrane, "My Favorite Things"
5. The Clancy Brothers "Greatest Hits"
6. Lacy J. Dalton "Greatest Hits"
7. Paul Desmond Quartet "Live" (an A&M label release)
8. Neil Diamond "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" soundtrack

STEVE: You do not have to publish this. It was quite a trip figuring
this out, and very unfair to so many performers. -- Best, Bill Adams,
